At Absafe, we hugely value our relationships with our sponsors.
We partner with companies that are the right fit for us – and who share the same passion and tenacity for improving safety for everyone at home, at work and on the road.
We’ve been lucky enough to be sponsored by Aramco Overseas UK, an affiliate of Saudi Aramco - a fully integrated, global petroleum enterprise and a world leader in the exploration, production, refining, distribution, shipping and marketing of oil and gas.
Since 2012, Aramco has been instrumental in the development of our road safety programme. Aramco requested that it sponsor our road safety initiative as it has a heavy emphasis on improving driving operations in the regions it operates.
Aramco’s donations have gone to creating the facilities and material in our road safety set, resulting in a measurable average of 91% improvement in road safety knowledge for every child who visited The Safe. Without this vital funding, we would not have been able to develop the interactive and impactful lesson delivery.
Our work with Aberdeen City Council’s Schools Road Safety Initiative – a series of primary school assemblies developed by Absafe that promote road safety - is also supported by Aramco. This has allowed us to deliver messages into the community with new banners displayed outside the schools, sharing the learning and supporting school safety.
As a direct result, we saw positive results from the school assembly project including a reduction in the speed of drivers around the schools and safer parking by parents when dropping off and picking up children.
We encourage our sponsors to experience what we do first hand – so businesses can see the immediate benefits of their investment. Through working with Absafe their own staff engagement with safety awareness has been enhanced, and the local community has directly benefited from their generous donation providing a direct impact on saving lives.
Our positive road safety work in the community encouraged Michael McDonnell, Director of Road Safety Scotland to pay Absafe a visit.
“It was good to have the opportunity to visit Absafe and great to meet the team involved in the project. The building is quite deceptive, almost TARDIS-like from the outside, and Absafe makes very good use of the space available inside. As ever, what is most impressive, is the dedication and commitment of the people involved and the children who attended seemed to enjoy it thoroughly.” Michael McDonnell, Director, Road Safety Scotland.
